So many people say to me, "You're just so young. You haven't done anything yet. You still have so much ahead of you."
It's interesting how even though there is so much I haven't done yet, so many places I haven't gone, yet I feel like I've experienced so much! There are so many firsts I'm experiencing right now.
So I thought I would share them with you. All of my firsts. The good, the bad, the ugly etc. Because firsts are fun, because my name is January and because "1st of January" is an irresistible pun a co-worker of mine came up with! lol (Thanks, Chris!)
So the first first....let's see.
Over the holiday season I tried a few firsts in the girly department. I'm not the girliest of girls but I have my moments. I tried my first nose strip! Gross, yes, and lame, yes I know...but it was kinda fun! I've seen all these videos on facebook of girls trying these crazy products that they seem to love so why not!! Life is too short not to put foreign objects on you face and then take them off while ignoring the pain they are causing. Haha! It worked really well and I plan to use these things frequently in the future! Plus it made my nose really soft! lol I call that a success!
There is that old beauty adage: No pain, no gain.
(In the past I have just chosen to ixnay gaining) but with a new year comes new resolutions and I have decided to try new things! Things I've avoided, ignored, never thought of, or I am afraid to try.
Another girly first I tried for the holiday season was when I tried fake nails for the first time ever! Overall a pleasant experience! I got a great nail manicurist! (Is that what you call them? idk lol) She took her time and was very attentive to my worries. Yes, I was worried. Mostly I was worried they were going to be too long (I'm very tough on nails and was worried I wouldn't be able to unbutton my jeans and like my mom says that could be a problem lol) so I kept asking her to shorten them throughout the process. lol However, once they were on and the color started to appear nail by nail, I started to get excited.
(Btw they were you're average acrylic nails with shellac on top in case anyone is wondering.)
They look pretty amazing and I've gotten loads of compliments! So, yeah trying new things is pretty great, so far!
Can't hurt to try anything once (well in some cases it will but let's stay positive shall we)!
Anyway I hope you guys got a kick out of this first and hope you come back to here more of my rants and babblings X)
Here's to many firsts!
Happy New Year!
