Flashback First

My first ferris wheel wasn't just any ferris wheel.  It was the tallest one in the U.S.  You guessed it!  I went to the State Fair in Texas.  I'd never gone before, and I was kinda wishing I had until I realized I wouldn't have enjoyed it near as much due to my fear of rides 😆  I also didn't realize until I was on the ferris wheel itself that it was the tallest in the country!

A very nice gentleman commended me for quote "Going big or going home."  When I asked him what he meant, he informed me of the monumental height of the contraption I was on!  AHHHHHH

I can tell you that there was only one fear that trumped my fear of the height and that was the ever present fear of dropping my phone 212 feet crashing onto the concrete!  Yeah, that'll make you nervous!

Here's a link to a little video of my sister and me on our way to the top.

Needless to say I had a blast, facing my fears and all 😄  A few unexpected surprises included the size of the gondolas.  They are much bigger than I had expected!  They fit four people rather than just two like in "The Notebook", and they are kinda tall as well.  Another unexpected twist to my first trip to the State Fair was just how expansive the fair is!!  I knew it was big, but it's downright huge!! Like Donald Trump "HUUUUUUGE". lol

So next time you're in Texas, stop off and get some taffy, ride some rides, and make sure you go say hi to Big Tex, he's awfully friendly.
